Commitment to Equity and Anti-Bias

Systems of oppression and racism, both past and present, continue to result in many pregnant people being excluded from access to high quality care and support. This exclusion results in significant and devastating differences in health outcomes, particularly for Black, Latinx, and Pacific Islander, as well as non-binary birthing people and their babies. While this is a problem that requires significant change at a systems level, Hatch Midwifery is committed to action at a local level.

Our fiscally sponsored project, Hatching Possibilities, provides scholarships for BIPOC and non-binary birthing families to receive access to our personalized prenatal, postpartum, and lactation care, as well as support recipients in hiring culturally concordant doulas and to access other supportive care, such as chiropractor care, acupuncture, and massage.

We are strongly committed to working with and referring to a network of culturally concordant care providers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are dedicated to continued learning and participating in the conversations necessary to address and breakdown the barriers that so many families face during their childbearing years.
