Why Choose Hatch Midwifery for Your Care?

Our Integrated Birth Support package is designed for families who plan to give birth in a hospital but want the continuity, compassion, and holistic approach that community midwifery care provides. It offers a seamless thread of support, connecting education, doula care, and postpartum follow-up so that you feel held and informed every step of the way.

At Hatch, we believe birth unfolds most smoothly when preparation, advocacy, and recovery are supported by trusted relationships. Through our integrated model, you’ll experience:

  • Education and empowerment through evidence-based classes led by midwives who know birth from the inside out

  • Trusted continuity from a team that knows you well before labor begins

  • Nurturing recovery with postpartum and lactation care focused on your healing, your baby, and your transition as a family

Integrated Birth Support: What to Expect

You’ll meet privately with your midwife three times during pregnancy for personalized sessions to prepare for birth and postpartum. Together, we’ll review your preferences, discuss comfort and coping strategies, and map out your recovery plan.

Our midwife-led childbirth class blends mindfulness with evidence-based information about labor and birth in a hospital. We’ll cover comfort measures, partner support, decision-making, and how to navigate medical care with confidence and calm.

As part of your care with Hatch Midwifery, you’ll have access to our private digital library, an ever-growing collection of handouts and videos created by our midwives and collaborators. The library includes evidence-based guides, mindfulness practices, lactation tutorials, and postpartum recovery tips designed to meet you right where you are in pregnancy and early parenthood.

These classes focus on practical readiness for life with your newborn. You’ll learn about infant feeding, recovery in the first weeks, and essential infant-care skills, including CPR. By the time your baby arrives, you’ll have a clear plan and the tools to meet your needs with confidence.

Your doula will meet with you twice during pregnancy to explore your preferences and build rapport. During labor and birth, you’ll receive continuous in-person support, physical, emotional, and advocacy, from someone who knows your goals. A follow-up visit after birth helps you reflect on your birth experience.

Your postpartum care includes five in-home visits with a midwife and IBCLC to support your healing, lactation, and transition to parenthood. Three visits occur within the first 7–10 days, followed by visits around three and six weeks.

Your postpartum massage comes directly you, creating a calm, nurturing environment for deep rest and recovery. In addition to extensive experience in prenatal and postpartum bodywork, our therapist is trained in specialized abdominal massage techniques that can support healing after difficult or cesarean births and promote overall well-being.

You’ll be welcomed into our eight-session New Parents Group, facilitated by a midwife. This supportive circle offers space to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others in the same stage of life. You’ll also maintain access to our private online library for continued learning after birth.

We know that your questions and concerns aren’t always limited to business days. Your care includes phone, text, and email access to a midwife seven days a week. If you need urgent postpartum care, we can see you on an as-needed basis or help coordinate a visit with a hospital provider if that is more appropriate.

Community at the Heart of Care

At Hatch Midwifery, we see birth not as a medical event, but a deeply human experience that flourishes in connection (and that benefits from some clinical care too!). Our Integrated Birth Support model was created to nurture that sense of belonging and to help you feel held by a web of care that includes your midwives, your doula, and a growing circle of new families who are walking this path beside you.

This work is as much about community as care. We gather, share stories, learn together, and remind one another that we are never meant to do this alone. Through circles, classes, and quiet moments of support, you’ll find that the spirit of midwifery lives not only in skilled hands, but in the heart of our community, where compassion, wisdom, and laughter are shared freely.

Billing & Benefits

Many families are able to use doula benefits (such as those offered through Carrot and similar programs) to cover a portion of this package. In addition, most PPO insurance plans provide partial or full reimbursement for the lactation care included in our services. We also gladly accept HSA and FSA payments. Our team is happy to provide detailed superbills, receipts, and guidance to help you navigate reimbursement so that finances don’t become a barrier to the care and continuity you deserve.
