About Julia Marteja
Kumusta? I’m Julia.
I am a Registered Nurse, a fur mom to a 2-year-old dog named Baltimore, a loving partner to Aly, and a very proud ally and member of the queer community.
My contribution to the Hatch community is quite unconventional, as I do client care and admin work at the comfort of my home. I view my profession as liberating and rewarding for I am able to assist Kelly and her clients in a virtual manner, enabling me to tend to their needs whenever and wherever. I do miss seeing clients in person, though I am very optimistic and hopeful to meet them all sometime in the future.
I was awarded with my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from North Central College in 2018. I then furthered my studies and obtained my Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Northampton in 2022. I initially had the inclination to pursue a career in law but to my surprise, things took a turn and I decided to enroll in Nursing school at Trinity University of Asia in 2019. Shortly after graduating, I was able to acquire my license to practice in the Philippines in December 2023 and in the United States in June of 2024. This drastic change has given me four wonderful years of helping clients in various settings.
I was under the impression that the pandemic would hinder my ability to provide services for clients, as I am used to immersing myself in the hospital and community setting. Being a part of the Hatch community has proven me wrong. The art of nursing is that it adapts along with the needs of the people. I will always be grateful to have had this avenue to cater clients’ needs 7000 miles away.
